Essential Functions
Research, write, develop, test, and evaluate software programs.
Work with teams to facilitate deployment related to software programs.
Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing software.
Create and update documentation for designs, and all phases of the project.
Work with external customers to troubleshoot and solve problems.
Coordinate engineering efforts and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.
Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
May provide or assist with training needs as it relates to new or existing software.
May assist with quote or request for quote process.
Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division's quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in field related to position, as identified by department leadership.
Trained in the use of one or more of C/C++, Java, Python is required.
Experience with Javascript, Vue, MVC, Go is a plus.
Experience using UNIX/Linux operating systems preferred.
Ability to apply design theory and methodology.
High level of customer service skills.
Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.
Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
Travel may be necessary.

Education and Experience
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in software engineering, or field related to specific position.
Entry level or early career engineer 0-2 years with bachelor's degree in software engineering or master's degree in engineering field. Or experience in lieu of education.

Technical Proficiency: Competency to design tools/software and a foundation understanding of engineer principles for practical application.
Problem Solving Skills: Ability to identify design challenges, propose solutions, and troubleshoot issues with guidance.
