Job description
Hours: 7:00am-3:30PM M-F
Pay: $25.30 per hour and a $1000 90-day probation completion bonus.
Reports to: This position reports to the plant Quality Supervisor and additional reporting to Quality Manager and Plant Manager.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations.
- Understand and adhere to the requirements of the Business Management System and perform duties in a manner that supports the company's Mission Statement.
- Able to learn the list of competencies listed in the "Job Competency Check Sheet" for this position within the timeframe specified by the Quality Manager.
- Perform inspection and tests precisely as described in the applicable procedures and work instructions. This includes proper and safe sample collection and their preparation.
- Proper use and maintenance of lab instruments and test equipment including the verification their calibration status prior to use.
- Accurately perform electronic data entry of test results.
- Understand and interpret test and inspection results and communicate issues to management in a time manner.
- Maintains a safe working environment, following all safety rules and procedures and report any unsafe conditions, incidents or near-misses.
- Performs inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Proper care and use of laboratory equipment and precision measuring devices.
- Detail-oriented to ensure reliable and precise test results and accurate record keeping.
- Communicate effectively and concisely in English both verbally and through written documentation.
- Understand and follow good laboratory practices; work in a safe manner, understand the location, purpose and use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, be flexible and manage multiple assignments/projects at the same time.
- Able to apply logic and reasoning when dealing with problems with limited supervision.
- Must be persistent in order to accomplish a task or assignment in a timely manner.
- Work harmoniously and with tact and diplomacy when interfacing with co-workers including other departments.
- Effectively plans and organize work to achieve efficient and effective results.
- Accept the responsibilities and obligations of the job and the consequences of one's actions.
- Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required with a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Entry level computer skills in MS Word and Excel
- Must be able to work in a laboratory environment.
Ability to work shift work.
- Visual Acuity (including color perception).
- Good Hearing.
