About Us
Branson Design Group is a Boerne-based AV and smart home integration company delivering high-end residential control, network, surveillance, audio, and lighting systems. We're looking for an entry-level AV Technician to join our installation team and grow with us.
Position Summary
The AV Technician I supports the installation team on residential smart home and AV projects from rough-in through final commissioning. This is an entry-level, hands-on field role ideal for someone mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in the low-voltage/AV integration trade. You'll work alongside Lead Technicians and Project Managers, following the project's approved scope of work from installation through client handoff.
What You'll Do
  • Install AV, network, surveillance, control, and lighting equipment per project proposals and approved scope of work
  • Run and terminate low-voltage cabling (speaker wire, Cat6, coax) neatly and to code
  • Mount and wire equipment racks, TVs, speakers, cameras, access points, and touchscreens
  • Log daily work in D-Tools Cloud: clock in/out of projects, complete checklist items, and post progress photos and comments to the project Activity feed
  • Stage and organize daily materials designated by the Project Manager
  • Support the Lead Technician during commissioning and system stress-testing
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including field injury response protocols
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members on-site
What We're Looking For
  • 0-2 years of experience in AV/low-voltage installation (training provided; prior experience a plus)
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools, working on ladders, and in attics/crawlspaces
  • Basic understanding of low-voltage wiring, or willingness to learn quickly
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (clean driving record required)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work throughout the day
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, professional workmanship
  • Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet for task management (D-Tools Cloud)
Nice to Have
  • Manufacturer training or certifications (Crestron, Control4, Lutron, etc.)
  • Experience with home networking (routers, switches, access points)
  • OSHA 10 certification
