Job Summary

Our Client is an engineering and energy consulting firm supporting utilities, renewable-energy developers, investors, government agencies, and other power-sector clients. Since 2011, our client has supported more than 180 GW of clean and renewable energy projects.

We are seeking a Power Transmission & Distribution Consulting Project Manager to lead technical consulting engagements from kickoff through final delivery. The initial assignment will support an international power-infrastructure feasibility study in Africa, followed by consulting engagements involving utilities, transmission lines, substations, and related capital projects.

This is a client-facing role responsible for coordinating technical teams and contractors while managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and client communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage transmission, distribution, substation, feasibility-study, and related power consulting projects.
  • Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, deliverables, and risk registers.
  • Lead client kickoff meetings, status updates, project reviews, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, specialists, consultants, and contractors.
  • Track project hours, fees, milestones, profitability, and schedule performance.
  • Manage scope changes, change orders, invoices, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Ensure technical deliverables meet client expectations and appropriate quality-review standards.
  • Maintain strong control of project cost, schedule, scope, and quality.
  • Support the development of project management tools, templates, processes, and reporting.
  • Represent Continuum with utilities, developers, contractors, regulators, and international stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, project management, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of experience managing transmission, distribution, substation, utility, grid, or related energy-infrastructure projects in the U.S. or Canada.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and final delivery.
  • Working knowledge of North American electric-power infrastructure, utility operations, and T&D projects.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating external contractors or consultants.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or a comparable project management platform.
  • Strong client-facing, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a remote, deadline-driven consulting environment.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally and across the U.S.–Canada border.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country where based. Sponsorship may be considered for an exceptionally qualified candidate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE, P.Eng., or PMP credential.
  • Experience with a utility, transmission developer, IPP, renewable-energy developer, or engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience with utility capital planning, transmission lines, substations, grid interconnection, or feasibility studies.
  • Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets such as PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO, SPP, ERCOT, AESO, or IESO.
  • International power or infrastructure consulting experience.
  • French-language ability for Canadian or international assignments.

Work Environment / Schedule

  • Fully remote within the U.S. or Canada.
  • Preference for candidates in Eastern or Central U.S. time zones.
  • Collaboration across North American time zones with occasional flexibility for international projects.
  • Initial travel to Africa may include 2–3 trips of approximately one week or less.
