Job description

Creighton Manning, a GAI Company, is seeking a Junior Engineer (0-2 years of experience) to complement our existing engineering staff working on exciting bridge design and engineering projects in our Structures Group.

About This Position:

As a Junior Engineer, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer contributing to the team on a variety of bridge and structural engineering projects. Junior Engineers evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks under the general guidance of a Project Engineer or Project Manager on both large and small projects.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Collaborating with the engineering team to solve complex problems for the structural analysis and design of bridges, culverts, and other transportation infrastructure projects
  • Attending project meetings with internal project teams and external clients
  • Conducting assessments and inspections of bridges, culverts, and other project components
  • Performing computations for structural analysis and design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other structural components
  • Design and layout of project components in 2d and 3d
  • Preparing construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Field observation of construction for adherence to construction plans and specifications
  • Report and memo writing
  • Construction support through review of contractor shop drawings and submittals

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent
  • EIT certification is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microstation, AASHTOWare, MathCAD and other structural engineering software a plus but not required

Hourly Pay Range:

Albany, NY, and Syracuse, NY:$36/hour - $39/hour

Poughkeepsie, NY: $36/hour - $41/hour

Westchester – White Plains, NY: $36/hour - $45/hour

Pay is based on applicant’s certifications (EIT), skills, and prior experience and will be rated on this scale accordingly.
