Job description

Osmose is currently seeking an entry-level Civil/Structural Project Engineer to join our structural engineering team.

This in office M-F position is located in downtown Atlanta. GA

This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers who are eager to build technical skills and gain hands-on experience in the assessment, analysis, and restoration of utility structures. This position will support project design development, assist with engineering calculations and submittals, and participate in field observations to ensure work meets design requirements and company standards. Guided by senior engineers, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop professional experience while contributing to safe, reliable, and cost-effective structural solutions.

Responsibilities:

Design & Analysis

  • Review data collected during field assessments of transmission structures and prepare documentation under supervision
  • Assign standard restorations and repairs for existing steel, concrete, and foundation structures with guidance from senior engineers

Drawing & Documentation

  • Review construction drawings for accuracy and provide markups or changes to align with design requirements under supervision
  • Assist in developing project documentation, material specifications, and engineering deliverables
  • Gain exposure to restoration methods, connection detailing, and foundation assessments

Project Oversight

  • Oversee small projects with guidance and direction from senior staff
  • Support project execution by coordinating technical deliverables and schedules
  • Support the efforts of the Project Engineers, Product Engineers, and Engineering Technicians to deliver industry-leading engineering services.

Field Support

  • Travel to construction sites as needed to observe construction activities and document field conditions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (construction, operations, asset management) to support project execution

Professional Development & Standards

  • Develop knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry codes, and internal standards relevant to structural engineering
  • Participate in mentorship, training programs, and peer review sessions to build technical and professional skills
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning in all assignments

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

  • Experience 0-2 years professional engineering experience (internship or co-op a plus).

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred

  • Familiarity with structural analysis software (RISA 3D, PLS, SAP2000, STAAD, etc.) preferred
  • Exposure to AutoCAD or other drafting/modeling software a plus

  • Proficiency withMS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to speak clearly and confidently to customers. Must be able to write technical documents using proper style and grammar.

  • Willingness to travel to construction sites and work outdoors in varying condidtions as needed.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
