Schedule: 1st shift-Full-time | Monday-Friday 5:00AM-1:30PM

Location: 531 Old Swede Road - Douglassville, Pennsylvania 19518

Compensation: Competitive starting hourly rate based on experience, technical capability, education, and market dataโ€”compensation level will align with demonstrated engineering knowledge, applicable experience, and ability to contribute independently

Build What Matters. Be Part of Something That Lasts.

At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we design, build, and service custom engineered lifting solutions used in critical industries where precision, safety, and reliability matterโ€”and we invest in the people who make that possible.

We're looking for a General Laborer with a primary focus on sandblasting and surface preparation to support our manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in seeing a finished product, and wants to build valuable industrial skills in a stable manufacturing environment.

What This Role Really Is

This is a physically active, hands-on manufacturing role focused primarily on sandblasting large structural steel components and preparing surfaces for painting and finishing.

You'll spend most of your day working around heavy industrial equipment, preparing materials, maintaining quality standards, and supporting production operations.

This is not a desk job. It's real manufacturing work that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.

Who Thrives Here (and Who Doesn't)

You'll do well here if you:

  • Take pride in doing quality work
  • Show up consistently and on time
  • Enjoy hands-on, physical work
  • Follow safety procedures and instructions
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Want to learn new skills and grow in manufacturing

This role is likely not a fit if you:

  • Prefer office or desk-based work
  • Struggle with physically demanding environments
  • Dislike wearing PPE or following safety procedures
  • Need constant supervision to stay productive
  • Are looking for highly repetitive work with little responsibility

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

First 30 Days

  • Learn ACECO safety standards and shop procedures
  • Become familiar with sandblasting equipment and surface preparation requirements
  • Build relationships with painters, fabricators, and manufacturing team members
  • Demonstrate reliability, attendance, and safe work habits

Days 31โ€“60

  • Perform sandblasting and prep work with increasing independence
  • Support material handling and production activities throughout the shop
  • Maintain quality and cleanliness standards
  • Contribute positively to team operations

Days 61โ€“90

  • Consistently perform assigned work safely and efficiently
  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks
  • Support production goals while maintaining quality expectations
  • Continue building skills and manufacturing knowledge
