Job description


The Operating Systems Engineer is an entry-level engineering professional responsible for supporting the design, development, testing, and improvement of products and systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and engineering management, this position applies engineering principles to solve technical challenges, prepare engineering documentation, perform calculations, and support manufacturing and field operations. The Engineer I gains exposure to product development processes while developing technical expertise and industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting research and analysis to support ongoing engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and test prototypes or models.
  • Prepare failure reports and analyze information to include root cause.
  • Aid in the design and implementation of engineering solutions to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in the documentation and presentation of project plans, progress, and results.
  • Conduct experiments and gather data to evaluate the performance of different engineering systems.
  • Support the analysis of data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas

Qualifications
  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent. (Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. 0-2 years
    experience in contract drilling)
  • Proficiency in equipment, drilling systems and components
  • Proficiency in safety codes, welding procedures and material
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and MS Projects
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and explain drawings to field personnel
  • Reliable self-starter able to establish priorities and organize workload on daily basis with minimal direction
  • Dependable and adaptable to change
  • Good interpersonal skills Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Knowledge Structural/Mechanical design analysis software. e.g. Risa 3D, Solidworks, etc.
