Work Hours: 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday

Dixon Fire, a proud division of The Dixon Group, is looking for a CNC/Material Prep Operator to support our manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to learn the CNC function and grow with a great company-we will train the right person! This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a rewarding career in manufacturing and gain comprehensive experience by doing a little bit of everything around our plant. From operating advanced machinery to handling final product assembly, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing high-quality fire safety equipment and assembling industrial fire hoses.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist in loading raw materials, operating CNC machinery under close supervision, and monitoring the automated production of specialized parts for fire equipment.
  • Monitor the machine while it runs, unload the finished part, and repeat the process and maintain a steady production pace and high volume.
  • Load castings on robot tables and ensure it loads properly.
  • Cut, couple, and assemble heavy-duty fire hoses according to precise engineering, quality, and safety guidelines.
  • Rotate through various departments of the manufacturing plant to assist wherever needed-including material handling, shipping and receiving, and general shop support.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Complete basic daily maintenance on machines
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn
  • Previous CNC experience a plus! (we are willing to train the right candidate!)
  • Skilled or willing to learn the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • General computer proficiency
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for the full shift
