About this Role

R.R. Cassidy is searching for an Assistant Estimator in Beaumont, TX. Who will support the estimating team in preparing accurate, detailed, and timely cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves quantity take-offs, gathering supplier and subcontractor pricing, and assisting in bid preparation. The Assistant Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure estimates are complete, competitive, and aligned with project requirements. This is NOT a remote position; you will be required to travel to Beaumont, TX, Monday - Friday.

What You'll Do
  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for all phases of construction projects (conceptual, schematic, design development, and final).

  • Perform quantity take-offs using construction drawings, specifications, and digital estimating software.

  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.

  • Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing records, and unit cost information.

  • Review bid documents, plans, and specifications to identify scope requirements and potential risks.

  • Support the development of bid proposals, budgets, and cost comparisons.

  • Assist with project handoff to operations and procurement teams after award.

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and value engineering sessions as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality of pricing and estimating data at all times.

What You'll Bring
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).

  • 1-3 years of experience in estimating, construction, or related field (internship or entry-level experience acceptable).

  • Basic understanding of construction materials, methods, and terminology.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
  • Must be able to report to work at the Beaumont office Monday - Friday 7AM - 5PM
