Job description


Under direct supervision, perform general labor work, including but not limited to, Nursery grounds maintenance; propagation; pruning; planting; potting; watering; and general care of plants for the purpose of production and sales of Nursery plants and materials. Uses various hand tools, such as trowels; garden shears; hand clippers; etc.
Compensation:
$17.78/hour (non-exempt).
This is a union position with 1 opening.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: Landscaping/Nursery Supervisors and Lead Workers

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
  • Landscaping and Nursery operations, which includes general labor in the Nursery.
  • Assist with keeping Landscape materials organized, clean, and orderly while ensuring proper operation for all on-going Nursery activities.
  • Assist with maintaining the inventory for all Landscaping projects, including watering; weeding; and organizing all Landscape materials.
  • Maintain professional appearance and operation of all assigned uniforms, tools, and equipment for Landscaping activities.
  • Actively participate in training, support, direction, and guidance from Supervisors.
  • Report all maintenance and repairs required for equipment to the Supervisors.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification/Requirements:
  • Entry Level position.
  • Required to follow all safety standards for a nursery operation.
  • Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
