Job description

Nights (12 hour shift, 6:00pm – 6:00am) 2-2-3 schedule

Days (12 hour shift, 5:45am – 6:00pm) 2-2-3 schedule

  • Employee is locked in shift

***This is a Contract to Hire role.  Should the site want to convert the contractor, the offer is contingent upon passing a Work Key evaluation (literacy levels and comprehension).

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent

 

The Packaging Operator I role is the entry level role at the Mt. Vernon facility. This role is responsible for

packaging, cleaning, and relieving for breaks. This role will primarily work in the production area.

  • Spotting out-bound trucks into material load docks, ensuring dock-locks
  • Reclaiming off-quality Unbonded Loosefill and refeeding the material to the forehearth
  • Packaging operator placing bags on bagger equipment snouts ensuring proper packaging of finished goods material
  • Performs general cleanup duties in designated areas (including, but not limited to, sweeping floor, blowing down the line/robot, cleaning break rooms, etc.).
  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance processes
  • Perform special needs as determined by plant staff
  • Participates in safety and housekeeping programs as established within the plant.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 – 3 years manufacturing experience

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
