Position Summary:

A Planner is pivotal in optimizing production efficiency by crafting and adjusting schedules, aligning with demand and resource availability. Their role spans material planning, ensuring timely procurement, and adeptly managing inventory levels. Proficient in capacity planning, they identify and address constraints for streamlined operations. Effective communication and commitment to continuous improvement are central, facilitating agile manufacturing processes that meet organizational goals.

Reporting Relationships:

The Production Planner will report to Production Planning Supervisor.

Location: This position will be based in Hialeah, FL.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

Production Planning:

  • Develop production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure alignment between production plans and overall business goals.

Material Planning:

  • Determine the raw materials, components, and resources required for production.
  • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials.

Scheduling:

  • Create detailed production schedules that consider production capacity, lead times, and resource constraints.
  • Adjust schedules in response to changes in demand, resource availability, or other factors.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and control inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Implement inventory control strategies to optimize working capital and minimize carrying costs.

Communication:

  • Liaise with various departments, including production, procurement, and logistics, to convey production plans and address any issues or changes.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about the progress of production orders and potential disruptions.

Priority Setting:

  • Prioritize production orders based on customer requirements, deadlines, and strategic business objectives.
  • Make decisions about the sequencing and priority of manufacturing tasks.

Capacity Planning:

  • Assess production capacity and identify any constraints that may impact the production schedule.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to optimize resource utilization and address capacity challenges.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Education and Qualifications:
