This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a Product Development Engineer in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, with Signify.

  • Develop innovative and creative LED luminaires with the focus on customer needs and technological competitiveness.

  • Work with an integrated project team using a stage gate development process to bring products to market from start to finish.

  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and on budget.

  • Build and test prototype designs and implement improvements.

  • Apply engineering practices such as DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), tolerance stack-up, material selection, DoE (Design of Experiments), and DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principals.

  • Participate in design reviews and supply frequent updates to a project manager.

  • Diploma or degree in mechanical technology, engineering, or related

  • 2+ years' work experience in mechanical product design and development

  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes; sheet metal industry knowledge an asset

  • Some understanding of either die-casting, plastic injection molded parts, or extrusion designs

  • Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MS Office

  • Familiarity with lighting safety standards (UL 1598) and electrical codes a plus
