Job description

As part of the Operations NPI Product Development Engineering team, you will work on taking products from engineering concepts to high volume leading datacenter platforms deployed on a cloud scale.

What you'll be doing:

  • Our team owns, develops and delivers the Manufacturing, Test, and Failure Analysis/recovery process for new datacenter servers and assemblies incorporating the latest NVIDIAs GPU, CPU, and high speed interconnect technologies. Your work will lead to the development of the product during the NPI phase and successful hand off and enablement of high volume production.

  • Collaborate with a multi-functional group of HW/FW/SW engineering teams, manufacturing partners, and other operations groups such as program management and product quality engineering.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive product development plans that will result in high quality products. Participate in Design for Manufacturing / Test (DFX) process and reviews. Provide DFX feedback that results in excellent product quality.

  • Work closely with factory personnel and engineering teams during prototype/validation builds, driving solutions to day-to-day problems, collecting metrics and reporting status.

  • Work with operations teams to define and implement process improvements, based on data collection and analysis.

  • Reviewing build dashboards to analyze latest throughput, yields and failures.

  • Debugging server platforms as per published guidelines. Performing minor rework, retesting and recovering units.

  • Publishing clear daily status and build reports. Develop documentation and SOPs for product assembly, test, debug/failure analysis for internal teams, contract manufacturers or external customers.

  • Collaborate with Contract Manufactures Failure Analysis, Test Engineers and Operators to ensure smooth running of factory assembly and test operations.

What we need to see:

  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering and 12 + years of relevant work experience.

  • Proven skills and experience in design and manufacture of complex compute or networking hardware platforms. CPU, GPU, HBM, PCIe expertise and comfortable writing Python code.

  • Strong ability to diagnose and rationally solve problems on complex hardware platforms.

  • Familiar with diagnostics/test software as used in a factory setting.

  • Familiarity with Linux command line, running commands, reviewing outputs.

  • Ability to review logfiles and make initial triage decisions based on documentation provided by the Engineering Team.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for collaborating with global matrixed teams and developing clear documentation and reports.

  • A high-energy, proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability to drive critical tasks and projects through to completion.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, typically 2-3 times per quarter

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Strong EE fundamentals, knowledgeable in high speed digital design, signal integrity, statistics, timing analysis, fault analysis, sampling and computer architecture.

  • Prior board/system level electrical design experience.

  • Working knowledge of AI based tools for improving efficiency and automating day today tasks.
