Entry Level Pre Dental Students are primarily students preparing for dental school, focusing on coursework and shadowing. Dental Assistants are trained professionals working directly in dental offices, assisting dentists with patient care. While both roles are related to dentistry, the Pre Dental Student is an educational stage, whereas the Dental Assistant is a trained support role in dental practices.

What jobs can you get with a pre-dentistry degree?

A pre-dentistry degree prepares students for entry-level roles in healthcare settings, such as dental assistant, dental receptionist, or laboratory technician. These positions often require knowledge of dental terminology, patient interaction skills, and familiarity with dental tools or software. They provide relevant experience for pursuing dental school and becoming a licensed dentist.

What should I do as a pre-dental student?

As a pre-dental student, you should focus on maintaining a strong GPA, gaining relevant experience through shadowing dentists and volunteering, and preparing for the Dental Admission Test (DAT). Developing good communication and manual skills, along with building relationships with mentors, can also strengthen your dental school application.

How to get into the dental field with no experience?

Entry-level pre-dental students can gain experience by volunteering or shadowing dental professionals to understand the field, and by taking relevant coursework such as biology and chemistry. Building strong communication and organizational skills, along with maintaining a good academic record, can also improve chances of acceptance into dental programs.
