Job description

We Are Inspired to Serve. Join us!This position will be responsible for providing maintenance services to keep the facility buildings, grounds, and equipment in
good repair. In so doing, significant contributions are made to the safety, well-being and comfort of residents and employees.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete assigned work requests procedures and assigned preventative maintenance work orders as assigned by supervisor or department director such as, but not limited to: appliance repair, light carpentry work, routine motor vehicle maintenance, routine plumbing repair, routine repairs on heating/air conditioning, low voltage applications, swimming pools, fire alarms in accordance with procedures and industry acceptable standards. On occasion and as needed may need to provide housekeeping services.
  • Inspects facilities, systems and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety and cleanliness and identifying necessary repairs.
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand tools and small power tools and other power tools. Maintains tools and/or equipment for ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
  • Requires general labor and responsibility for event set-ups, deliveries and moves.
  • Basic understanding and care of buildings must be a good steward of the tools and property given for completing work orders.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot building and equipment issues as they arise.
  • Willingness to learn and expand trade knowledge of maintenance and facilities.
  • Assist other maintenance staff as needed.
  • Have availability to be included in the on-call schedule.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Required Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certificate(s): Valid Driver's License
  • Experience: Entry Level

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Basic skill knowledge of working of machinery, equipment and systems within the field.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair various equipment.
  • Knowledge in safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to problem solve and work in a team.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and communicate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate various equipment base on department and weather conditions
  • Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers - typing and/or writing.
  • Clarity of Vision:
    • For near visual acuity Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
    • For far visual acuity, Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. This is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well.
    • For peripheral vision, observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Compensation Pay Range:

$14.44 - $18.80 per hour

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $14.44 - $18.80 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
