Job description

What you'll do 

Receives training and provides entry-level support to the Office of Real Estate and Planning in the performance of real estate services on behalf of state agencies, boards, commissions, colleges & universities as required (e.g., leasing of commercial office, warehouse or other types of space; land leasing; commercial property acquisitions & sales; oil & gas leasing on state land; granting of easements; permits & licenses for state land use; re-viewing appraisals)

Conducts preliminary market research, property data gathering, and comparable property analysis.
Assists in the negotiation of real estate contract terms & provisions with property owners, developers, utility companies, cities, counties, other governmental agencies, not-for-profit entities & others.
Supports field activities such as property tours, inspections, and customer meetings where permissible.

Assists with preparing, reviewing and organizing real estate documents & any related materials (e.g., leases, easements, purchase agreements, legislative acts, sales packages, comparable market analysis, financial analysis).
Creates basic visual maps and property aids (e.g. parcel outlines, boundary sketches, site reference diagrams) to support real estate analysis, documentation and transactions.


Conducts property record research at county courthouses, including ownership verification, lien searches, taxation data, legal description confirmation, deed histories, parcel information, liens and other public documents needed for real estate transactions.

Assists in response to General Ombudsman inquiries concerning state-owned real estate.
Coordinates and performs deliveries of real estate documents, files, and records to state offices, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.
Assists in responding to property management issues in commercially leased spaces, including coordinating with state tenants, Landlords, and vendors to support timely resolution.

24 mos. trg. or exp. in real estate, property management or related field; travel required, must be able to provide own transportation. 

-Or undergraduate core program in business administration, real estate, property management or related field; travel required, must be able to provide own transportation. 

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
