Truck Driver CDL - A
Job Summary:
CellSite Solutions CDL-A Heavy Haul Drivers are the trusted professionals responsible for safely and efficiently transporting oversized, overweight, and specialized telecommunication equipment, to customer sites and company facilities. As the face of our company, this position plays a key role in delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Drivers operate within DOT regulations, maintain top-notch safety standards, and represent CellSite Solutions with professionalism at every delivery.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operate semi-trucks, heavy haul trucks, and specialized trailers (e.g., lowboys, flatbeds) in compliance with state and federal transportation laws.
  • Safely transport standard and oversized loads over designated routes, following all traffic laws, weight restrictions, clearance requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Plan efficient routes considering road restrictions, weather conditions, and delivery schedules.
  • Navigate challenging terrain and urban environments using GPS systems and commercial vehicle navigation tools.
  • Remain adaptable to changing schedules, routes, and customer needs.
  • Assist with or perform loading/unloading of goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement to prevent shifting or damage.
  • Follow best practices for securing standard freight and specialized telecommunication equipment, including adherence to safety protocols for hazardous or sensitive materials.
  • Operate heavy equipment (when qualified) to assist with loading and unloading at job sites.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the truck and trailer meet safety and operational standards.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks (oil, fuel, coolant, tire pressure) and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with the fleet department for repairs and perform minor roadside fixes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, bills of lading, inspection reports, and other compliance documentation in line with DOT requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site supervisors, pilot car drivers, and law enforcement escorts to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Record and report any hazards, delays, or incidents in a timely manner.
  • Set up safety perimeters using cones, signage, and barriers as required.
  • Follow job safety analysis (JSA) protocols before work begins at new sites.
  • Adhere to all company, industry, and regulatory safety standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Valid Class A CDL with the ability to haul overweight, over-dimensional, and specialized loads.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including overnight and out-of-state routes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Ability to remain focused and safe in high-pressure or fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient with smartphones, tablets, and basic Microsoft applications for timekeeping, email, and documentation.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as kneeling, bending, and climbing as needed for loading, unloading, inspections, and site work.
  • Physical ability to sit for long periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Class A CDL required.
  • Must pass all required background checks and drug testing in accordance with federal and state DOT regulations.
  • Experience with heavy haul/oversized load transport preferred.
