WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Prepare finished products for shipment by building and fabricating shipping dunnage, skids, crates, and boxes using wood and steel materials.

  • Move raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods throughout the facility to support production and shipping operations.

  • Safely load and unload trucks while ensuring products are secured, protected, and shipment-ready.

  • Assemble and install shipping caps, protective packaging, and other materials to prevent product damage during transport.

  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and approved lifting equipment to transport and position large materials and finished products.

  • Use standard crane hand signals and follow safe rigging and material handling practices at all times.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and tape measurements to accurately complete shipping and material handling tasks.

  • Support a safe, organized, and efficient work environment through daily housekeeping and adherence to safety and quality standards.

  • Work both indoors and outdoors in a manufacturing and shipping environment while contributing to on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

YOU HAVE:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Valid Massachusetts 1B License required and maintained in good standing throughout employment.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card), if required for operation of company vehicles or equipment.

  • Experience in shipping, material handling, crane operation, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment preferred.

  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, rough-terrain cranes, carry deck cranes, and other approved lifting equipment.

  • Knowledge of safe rigging, lifting, and material handling practices.

  • Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, SOPs, work instructions, and shipping documentation.

  • Experience using hand tools, drills, pneumatic tools, woodworking saws, ratchet straps, and other fabrication or shipping equipment.

  • Team members must be able to safely perform a range of physical activities, including standing and walking for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for tasks requiring dexterity and grip.

  • Roles may require frequent bending, kneeling, and maintaining balance, with occasional climbing or repositioning to support production needs.

  • This position is classified as medium work, requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbsfrequently, and 10 lbs consistently.

  • Employees must be able to effectively communicate, hear, and visually assess work to ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in a manufacturing environment.

Pay Transparency

nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$18.90 - $35.00 Per Hour

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
