Job description

A part of the FBI is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Senior Database Administrator to lead our database team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in database administration, architecture, and PostgreSQL development. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of the unit's PostgreSQL databases.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Design and implement database architecture that supports business requirements and achieves high performance, availability, and security.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases.
  • Conduct performance tuning of database systems, including queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
  • Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Assist in the design and development of data models and database solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database code in application layers.
  • Provide guidance on databases of the best practices for IT staff and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure database infrastructure is up to date with the latest technology trends and security patches.

Qualifications:
