Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: This role supports cybersecurity operations in the BJU IT department. Successful candidates are BJU students with a strong interest in cybersecurity, solid research and documentation skills, and familiarity with email security, Windows, and Office applications.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Investigate, categorize, and take action on reported phishing emails
  • Research vulnerabilities and exploits to determine applicability, adjust risk levels, and document findings
  • Analyze audit logs of various security controls to determine impact of implementation
  • Research other security controls and their impact as necessary

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University - IT and Cybersecurity majors preferred.
  • Understanding of email authentication methods, phishing attacks, and social engineering
  • Must be able to demonstrate personal interest in cybersecurity.
    • Network+, Security+, or other relevant certifications
    • Personal projects & labs
    • Activities not required by CpS coursework
  • ⁠Familiarity with Windows and Office Applications
  • Strong research and documentation skills are required
