Job description

Safety Compliance Manager is responsible for supervising the administration of project safety, accident, and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment at all of our job locations. This is a position that requires travelling to different projects and is an on-site position with duties being required regardless of indoors, outdoors, or weather elements. 
Typical Duties
  • Implementation and administration of project Accident Prevention Plan, and applicable safety standards as warrant from the EM 385 1-1, OSHA 1926 Standards, and Company Safety and Health Program whichever is more stringent shall apply.
  • Assist in control of hazardous working conditions and activities through interface with project management team and subcontractors.
  • Conduct indoctrination to new workers to the project including subcontractors.
  • Conduct briefings for visitors to the project site on activities and associated hazards. Ensure PPE are available for visitor use.
  • Communicate and collaborate daily with project management team and subcontractors.
  • Conduct daily safety inspection with the emphasis on continuous improvement and best practices. Maintain project safety and occupational health deficiency tracking system.
  • Investigate all injury and property damage incident and accidents occurring on the project. Identify cause(s) and lessons learned.
  • Develop Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) for work activities as identified in the specifications.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings to cover safety topics pertaining to the project or specific work activity.
  • Issue safety violations to employees as warranted.
  • Participate and assist in emergency planning and evaluation.
  • Ensure safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) is in good working condition.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for products on the job site.
  • Ensure jobsite safety postings are up to dated.
  • Maintains professional certifications and current knowledge of all safety and health laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Continued education in safety.
  • Provide additional training on the job sites when needed.
  • Encourage others to participate in the safety programs.
  • Maintain safety and health related records and documents.
  • Maintain Employee Safety Certification Database
  • Perform additional assignments as needed
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
  • 5 or more years work experience in construction safety.
  • First Aid/CPR certified
  • OSHA 30 or 500 Certificate
  • EM 385 1-1 Certificate
  • Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
  • RMS and eCMS use
  • CCHEST or BCSP certifications
  • Competent person – fall protection, confined space, excavation, scaffolding
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills to work successfully with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good verbal and written skills to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to resolve safety concerns on the project
  • Understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, OSHA standards and EM 385 1-1
  • Flexible hours to meet the needs of the project.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CPR Trainer certified 
  • Assisting Start up team in developing safety plans for new projects.
  • Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors.
  • Guide and Participate Safety Committee.
  • Willing to Travel
Access to Federal Military Bases will be required. Employment will be contigent on applicant's ability to pass security background screening vetted through several local and national data base systems for purpose of protecting U.S. government areas of responsibility and information. Employment will be terminated if access is denied.
