Job description

This full-time, entry-level position in Charlotte, NC, offers a great entry point into the power generation industry with full hands-on training provided. Working directly under the Service Manager, you will assist experienced technicians with the installation, routine maintenance, and repair of generator sets, transfer switches, and electrical equipment. Operating remotely from home, you will handle local travel, job site support, and parts delivery while building a foundational career in power systems. It's an ideal opportunity for driven individuals looking to gain valuable mechanical and electrical skills in a growing technical field.

  • Hourly rate up to $27/hr If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions.

Job Duties:

  • Assist lead technicians with routine preventative maintenance, such as changing oil/filters, basic engine repairs, and valve adjustments.
  • Support field operations by delivering parts, tools, and load bank trailers directly to job sites.
  • Observe and assist in basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, including AC/DC circuits and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).
  • Participate in supervised load bank testing to verify generators meet operational standards.
  • Work remotely from home, managing assigned company equipment, tools, and parts inventory while keeping vehicle maintenance up to date.
  • Provide clear verbal and written status reports, log time/travel accurately, and deliver quality customer service under guidance.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn and assist technicians.
  • Work well in team environments.
