Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector —Nashville, TN

TTL is seeking an NDT Inspector to join our team in Nashville, TN. From visual inspections of structural welds to structural steel and coating inspections, you’ll make sure these jobs are done right. In this role you will prepare daily reports and information for clients while maintaining that proper procedures, accurate computations, and cordial relationships are kept.

What You'll Do

  • Performs visual inspections (VT) of structural welds to ensure that it conforms to applicable standards. AWS Certified Welding Inspector would be a plus but not required.
  • Performs nondestructive testing using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant testing (PT) methods
  • Conducts coating inspections and testing to ensure that it compliance with applicable specifications and industry standards
  • Inspects structural steel and bolted connections with applicable codes
  • Follows proper procedures, performs accurate computations and documentation, and maintains cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors
  • Prepares daily inspection reports and communicates findings to clients in a timely and professional manner. Operates with moderate supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in reading of drawings, plans, and/or blueprints
  • Ability to communicate professionally orally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills and related technology
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and have good driving record. Drug-free workplace
  • Perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs
  • Ability to operate aerial lifts and work at heights.
  • Possess sufficient stamina to work in outdoor (hot & cold) environment
  • Current AWS CWI Certification preferred
  • Structural Steel experience required
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Certification
  • Experience with observing Structural Steel bolting and welded connections
  • Understanding of Special Inspections, tracking what has been inspected, and tracking of items noted as discrepancies
  • Ability to explain and interpret code and/or quality control requirements
