Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Batch Developer to maintain, optimize, and modernize high-throughput, complex Node.js and TypeScript batch applications. In this role, you will support existing batch workloads while leading architectural modernization efforts across our AWS cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain & Support: Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing, complex Node.js batch jobs to ensure high availability, data integrity, and performance.
  • Batch Modernization: Drive legacy batch modernization initiatives, transitioning monolithic or legacy routines into scalable, event-driven cloud architectures.
  • AWS Cloud Integration: Build, orchestrate, and maintain batch pipelines leveraging AWS Lambda, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, S3, and containerized task runners.
  • Reliability & Performance: Implement robust retry mechanisms, error handling, logging, and memory/compute efficiency for heavy data processing jobs.
  • CI/CD & Observability: Enhance deployment pipelines and setup monitoring/alerting for automated batch schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • TypeScript & Node.js: Deep expertise in core JavaScript/TypeScript runtime dynamics, asynchronous processing, and streaming large datasets.
  • Batch Architecture: Proven track record with batch patterns (e.g., ETL workflows, fan-out processing, idempotency, chunking, and distributed processing).
  • AWS Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with AWS serverless and compute services, specifically Lambda, EventBridge, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS/SNS, and S3.
  • Batch Modernization: Direct experience refactoring complex or legacy batch systems into modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Databases: Robust SQL and NoSQL querying skills optimized for bulk data manipulation.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with AWS Batch, AWS Glue, or container orchestration (ECS / Fargate).
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation).
