Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Associate, Electrical Engineering to perform test engineering support in an automated electronic factory, building secure military radios at our Rochester, NY Jefferson location. 

Essential Functions:

  • Implement engineering level changes to complex RF/analog/digital test and troubleshoot systems.  Develop, debug, optimize test software using National Instruments LabVIEW, and TestStand.
  • Uses a variety of test and measurement equipment to evaluate radio equipment performance.
  • Analyze and support need for additional production capacity and capability across supported production lines.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and conceptualize innovative solutions to drive strategic initiatives with organizational impact such as test time reductions and yield improvements. 
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting equipment and systems.
  • Review test and diagnostic software, design test fixtures, complete test procedures for new and existing products.
  • Document test hardware and software in alignment with test engineering standards.
  • Instruct technicians in the completion of test requirements as described above.
  • Ensures production goals & metrics are met from a test perspective.
  • Create/Update test station documentation items such as MTP's, Station BOM's, AMR's, and TSW's.
  • Update and troubleshoot complex digital and RF test systems. Drive improvement into test systems.
  • Guide and train lower-level engineers and technicians to test processes and procedures.
  • Improve Test Engineering systems and implement changes across the facility.
  • Experience in Electronics manufacturing systems, production processes technical standards and measurement equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.  Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. Recommends enhancements to systems and processes. Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • Understanding of Harris RF New and Legacy products.
  • Experience reading schematics and troubleshooting to component level.
  • Experience with Automated Test Systems, LabVIEW preferred.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $70,500 -  $130,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
