Job description

Summary

A Plating Technician responsible for dismantling, prepping, plating, and reassembling equipment associated with broad face and narrow face coppers. A Plating Technician will work on other equipment throughout the shop as needed.

The right candidate will

  • Report and/or correct all unsafe conditions immediately
  • Perform all necessary tasks associated with electroplating operations including but not limited to the following: scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of plating solution, tanks, pumps, filters and other equipment associated with the process. Performance of work is under direct supervision.
  • Preparation of parts: hand finishing, masking and installation of hangers and contacts.
  • Pre-treatment of parts: removal of grease, oil, and residues utilizing chemical or cleaning solutions.
  • Plating parts: operating overhead crane to submerge part into plating tank.
  • Unmask parts after removal from plating tank.
  • Perform housekeeping in area of responsibility (AOR)
  • Provide directions to entry level employees
  • Verify correct plating thickness per specification.
  • May drive a fork truck and/or crane, once certified.
  • May perform heat test on all parts to insure adhesion.
  • Travel to other locations may be required.
  • All other duties assigned at Management’s direction.
