Job Summary

Metrology Technician 1 is an entry level position responsible for calibration and certifying of dimensional measuring and test equipment to technical specifications, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This position will also pickup/return customer tooling. Receive customer tooling and assist in other tasks as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the calibration and certification of dimensional measuring and test equipment to technical specifications, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

  • Performs calibration on equipment.

  • Make reports in electronic systems and updates records as required by Metrology Quality System requirements.

  • Uses common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment.

  • Conducts pick up and drop off of customer equipment daily.

  • Receives equipment into data base and places it in the designated areas.

  • Performs work safely, in compliance to HS&E requirements, and takes actions to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Interacts effectively with others to produce the desired results.

  • Participates constructively in the utilization of process improvement methods to provide timely, cost-effective, quality services.

  • Maintains records of test data and assists in writing test procedures and test evaluation reports.

  • May adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment appropriate to meet special needs.

  • Provides activity and status reports to management.

  • Follows all directives and instructions within the KBR Metrology Quality Systems.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of hand tools and their operation.

  • U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military PMEL/TMDE training is preferred.

  • Preferred experience in dimensional measuring.

  • Indysoft experience a plus.

  • Previous customer service experience is a plus.
