Job description

Job Purpose:  

This is a substation electrician position in a craft ladder as the next job level from the Electrician III. Assist Substation Maintenance Electricians in the maintenance of all substation equipment. Work under the direction of an Electrician I on a multi-person crew maintaining substation equipment or other assigned duties as necessary.

Primary Functions:   

  • Work with crews maintaining & testing all substation equipment under leadership of Electrician I or Lead Electrician.
  • Assist crew in performing (HV) & Low Voltage (LV) switching activities under supervision of Electrician I or Lead Electrician.
  • Review job assignments and safety procedures each morning with Electrician I or Lead Electrician.
  • Assist in preparing vehicle for next assignment with tools and equipment for their crew, being personally responsible for assigned equipment.
  • Help ensure all job-related equipment needs, crew needs, etc. are met (i.e. tools available, trucks are stocked, parts available, etc.).
  • Assist with training and requirements for Electrician IIIs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
