How much do entry level modeling simulation engineer jobs pay per year?
What is the difference between Entry Level Modeling Simulation Engineer vs Mechanical Design Engineer?
| Aspect | Entry Level Modeling Simulation Engineer | Mechanical Design Engineer |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | Bachelor's in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related fields; basic knowledge of simulation software | Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; CAD and design software skills |
| Work Environment | Research labs, engineering teams, simulation software environments | Design studios, manufacturing facilities, engineering departments |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Automotive, aerospace, defense, manufacturing companies | Product design firms, manufacturing companies, R&D departments |
While both roles require a background in mechanical engineering and involve technical skills, the Entry Level Modeling Simulation Engineer focuses on creating and analyzing virtual models using simulation software, whereas the Mechanical Design Engineer emphasizes designing physical components and systems. Both roles are essential in product development but differ in their primary tasks and tools used.

Job description
As a Systems Engineer, you are accountable to coordinate across all engineering teams to define, design, and document Test Environment capabilities and requirements. You must be a systems thinker, able to see the “big picture”, and have the in-depth knowledge of development, production, User Operations, and embedded test process and practices. As a Test Systems Engineer, you will define and influence how prime hardware will be tested at every level (from component to All-Up-Round) to ensure robustness and efficiency.
You must demonstrate applied experience and working knowledge of developmental test process, test set-ups and integration, test equipment design with transition to the factory, and verification / validation of product hardware using proven test systems, methodologies, and techniques. Additionally, you must demonstrate the ability to identify and understand technology risks and system design concepts to make critical technical outcomes by understanding impacts to the program. We value diverse skills and experience, so don’t hold back.
Your qualification could add tremendous value to our team. Our customers come from all different backgrounds, and so do our employees. If you’re passionate about what you could accomplish here, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities to Anticipate: • Utilize your knowledge of models, simulations, test beds, prototypes, hardware integration, hardware manufacturing, warfighter (User) methodologies, and embedded test protocols to ensure comprehensive lifecycle testing that is both robust and affordable • Broad customer interaction including Department of Defense (DoD) contract work • Understand and define specialized capital investment needs • Intense focus on ‘customer affordability’, by using effective cost measurement techniques • Drive improvements in product affordability through increased built-in-test capabilities and decreased lifecycle ****Qualifications You Must Have: • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of two (2) years of experience directly related engineering experience (or a STEM Masters in lieu of experience) • Systems Engineering experience in test requirements development, test planning, test techniques, test methodologies test requirements documents, embedded functional test, and integration, verification, and validation for test • Past experience demonstrating a systems engineering approach for all test-related activities throughout the product lifecycle.
