Job Title: Field Service Technician (FST1)

Department: Field Service

Reports to: Site Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Position Summary / Job Scope

If you like to make equipment work better, this is the role for you. As a Field Service Technician, you’ll work at customer sites where you are the face of Clean Tech and an integral part of a vibrant and diverse team.

We train our Field Service Technicians to support the technology that the world relies on to ensure clean air. You are a steward of the environment when Centrotherm Abatement Systems perform to their potential. You’ll work beside global customers to install, maintain and upgrade their Centrotherm equipment, delivering world-class support for multimillion-dollar production systems.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills

This is an entry-level position and will be compensated on an hourly (non-exempt) basis. You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. The following skills are valued for success:

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities

((An * denotes duties or responsibilities judged to be "secondary functions" in terms of the American with Disabilities Act or ADA)

  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections and required preventative maintenance duties on Centrotherm equipment.
  • Under supervision, perform periodic system maintenance and minor corrective maintenance per customer schedules and requirements.
    1. Performs prescribed maintenance per defined procedures and work instructions.
  • Performs work within generally defined parameters.
    1. Assignments are semi-routine and accomplished with supervision from senior FST or appropriate lead/supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Adheres to all company and customer safety policies.
  • Not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties as other similar responsibilities may be added within the scope of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of experience operating and performing repairs and preventative maintenance in a semiconductor manufacturing or other similar industry.

Minimum and Preferred Education/Training/Experience

The candidate must possess at least one of the following educational or experience requirements:

  • Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in STEM or technical program.
  • Military service with 6+ months of experience considered in lieu of degree and/or equivalent technical degree.
  • Technical certification or trade school diploma.
  • 6+ months of experience gained through a certification, apprenticeship, or other facilities experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to:

  • Work in an environment with potentially hazardous materials wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves.
  • May require use of a respirator.
  • May require the ability to carry out a coworker in case of emergency.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds. Typically walks 3-5 miles a day with additional time spent standing/sitting.
  • Work a fixed schedule as determined by management and customer requirements. Monday-Friday or compressed work weeks both day and night.
