Job description

Overview

As an Application Software Engineer, you will make an impact from day one. Your efforts will help to maintain our market position as the goal leader in smart lighting and shading systems. At Lutron, your code doesn't sit in a backlog; it ends up in millions of homes and buildings around the world.  

Working within a collaborative, cross-functional team, you'll help bring innovative consumer products to life by tackling real engineering challenges across algorithms and data structures, distributed cloud services, and user experience optimization. You will ensure our software has a high level of quality through putting your code implementation through rigorous testing.  

You'll grow through direct mentorship from industry experts, building hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle with a clear path forward deepening your technical expertise while gaining leadership skills through your projects and development as an integral part of the team.

Your contributions will utilize the following foundational areas: 

  • Efficient design and use of algorithms and data structures

Responsibilities
  • Eliciting software requirements from various stakeholders

  • Participating in software design and implementation

  • Testing, deploying, managing, and maintaining software components

  • Participating in consensus-based software project management

  • Estimating planned implementation and prioritization  

  • Reviewing software designs and requirements before demoing to stakeholders 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering

  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned

  • 0-3 years' experience in a related field

  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

  • Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week 

Starting pay: $98,500 to $104,500 per year plus bonus. Lutron's employee benefits include 401k match, health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation (amount based on tenure with the company), flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement programs
