Role Summary:
 
The Production Technician I - UAS Assembly supports the hands-on assembly and integration of unmannedaircraftsystems (UAS) in a structured manufacturing environment.This entry-level role performs mechanical assembly, supports composite handling, and follows controlled work instructions to ensure safe,accurate, and repeatable builds.Technicians will be trained in aerospace-grade manufacturing discipline and will support productionrampfrom early builds through structured low-rate production. 

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Perform mechanical assembly of drone structures and subassemblies.
  • Install components per engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Follow torque specifications and fastening requirements.
  • Support final integration preparation.
  • Operate hand and power tools in a production environment.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations.
  • Follow standardized work and documented procedures.
  • Record work completion accurately in ERP/MESsystems.
  • Build strictlyto approvedrevisions andeffectivity.
  • Identifyand report discrepancies.
  • Support serial traceability discipline.
  • Participate in daily production meetings.
  • Follow PPE and composite handling safety protocols. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

Required: 

  • 0-2years' experiencein production, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, composites, or related technical field.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or work instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to cross-train across assembly stations. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift) on a production or manufacturing floor.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for fine motor tasks, including small-part assembly, wiring, fastening, and precision tool operation.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and components up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance. 
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms throughout the work shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and twisting while assembling and inspecting aircraft components.
  • Close visual acuity required to read work instructions, technical drawings, labels, and to perform detailed assembly and quality inspections, including color differentiation of wiring and components.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, torque devices, and assembly equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a light industrial environment requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ESD protection, and to access confined or elevated work areas as needed.
