Clearance Requirements

Position Summary
The National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of Nebraska is seeking applications for an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to support research and development activities at its Melbourne, Florida office and surrounding locations.
The successful candidate will support a multidisciplinary team conducting laboratory-based research involving measurement systems, instrumentation, electronic systems, and data acquisition. The position is full-time and guaranteed for an initial period of 12 months, with the potential for up to two additional 12-month extensions based on project performance and funding availability.
The position is expected to begin October 1, 2026. The selected candidate may begin earlier, as authorized, to become familiar with NSRI, project requirements, laboratory procedures, and assigned responsibilities prior to project start.
This position is part of a government-funded project, and employment is contingent upon continued customer funding and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in the design, development, integration, and testing of electronic systems and components.
• Perform laboratory measurements, instrumentation setup, and data collection in support of research activities.
• Contribute to the calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe operation of laboratory equipment.
• Support measurement systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition activities under the direction of senior engineers and project leads.
• Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, senior engineers, and project leads to support technical research tasks and project objectives.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, laboratory records, test results, and reports.
• Support integration and validation of systems and components under controlled test conditions.
• Assist with technical data analysis and the preparation of results using applicable engineering and laboratory tools.
• Participate in technical meetings and present project results, findings, and status updates as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of NSRI research and development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary research environment.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to work in Melbourne, Florida.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and electrical measurement techniques.
• Exposure to or interest in radio frequency (RF) systems.
• Familiarity with programming and data analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW.
