As our Field Land Surveyor for our Survey & Geospatial team in Saratoga Springs, you'll begin an exciting career in the surveying profession while working alongside experienced field crews on a variety of infrastructure, land development, and boundary surveying projects throughout Utah. What You'll Do

As our Field Land Surveyor, you'll support field survey operations while developing technical skills, learning industry best practices, and assisting experienced survey crews with daily project execution.

  • Field Crew Support
    Assist the Survey Party Chief by preparing, maintaining, and organizing survey equipment, supplies, and marking materials for daily field operations.
  • Survey Monument Research & Recovery
    Help locate and recover existing property boundaries, control points, and survey monuments to support accurate project execution.
  • Survey Equipment Operation
    Learn to utilize and operate a variety of survey instruments and equipment while gaining experience with industry-standard technologies.
  • Staking Preparation & Field Activities
    Prepare total stations, GPS bases, and additional equipment needed for daily staking, layout, and survey activities.
  • Quality Control & Mathematical Support
    Perform arithmetic and calculations alongside the Party Chief to help ensure quality control and survey accuracy.
  • Survey Procedures & Technical Development
    Learn and apply proper surveying procedures while building foundational field knowledge and technical expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of land surveying experience required, including construction surveying experience
  • Familiarity with the use and operation of robotic total stations
  • Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record
  • General understanding of geometry and mathematical principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and through two-way communication devices
  • Willingness to travel throughout Utah as projects may require work in other cities or counties
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions for up to 12-hour shifts
  • Must be physically capable of performing demanding field work, including frequently lifting and carrying up to 50-pound steel survey plates and other equipment over uneven terrain
  • Physically capable of standing, kneeling, walking, climbing, digging, lifting, carrying, and performing strenuous field activities, including lifting up to 80 pounds over uneven terrain

  • Salary: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
