Bachoco USA is seeking a Production Accountant for our Albertville, AL location
Summary: The Production Accountant assists the Complex Accounting Manager in the accurate recording of all plant production transactions. This includes, but is not limited to accurate daily reporting of production by production order, line and shift; accurate daily, weekly and month end inventories for meat and all dry goods. The Production Accountant will perform weekly inventory tests that comply with all SOX requirements.
The Production Accountant will provide timely and accurate KPI reporting daily, weekly and monthly to plant and company management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Operate a computer with Microsoft Windows-based programs. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Must be a fast learner in using our in-house ERP system and/or SAP for use in comparing actual expenditures with expected expenditures.
  • Assist all levels of management, plant and corporate, with the preparation and analysis of weekly, monthly and quarterly operating reports, and statistics.
  • Aid the Complex Accounting Manager with the weekly financial presentations to upper management concerning prior week's results.
  • Travel to all plant locations to help the facility personnel to understand their respective operating reports and how to be accountable for them.
  • Ability to track volumes, statistics, and dollars. This will need to be done weekly, monthly, year-to-date, and annually.
  • Ability to analyze variances to expected outcome or operating standard.
  • Assist Complex Accounting Manager with Balance sheet management of inventory quantities and valuation. Ensure monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts.
  • Analyze weekly large variances in actual versus standard results and be able to discuss them with management
  • Responsible for working with plant/operations management to ensure accurate reporting or all production transactions.
  • Responsible for maintaining all SOX controls and ensuring all documentation requirements are complete and accurate.
  • Assist Complex Accounting Manager in providing analytical research on Agri Stats comparisons and provide operating data to said firm on a monthly basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business related major (from four-year College or university) or Equivalent Work Experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bi-lingual in Spanish is not required, but a plus.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: To perform the job successfully an individual should have knowledge of E-Mail software, Accounting systems, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
