Position Specific Summary
GWMath Matters tutors provide quality on-site, small-group tutoring to 3rd through 8th-grade students in Washington, DC. Tutors build math skills with students while fostering meaningful relationships.
- Tutors provide math tutoring services for DC Public School students at select schools. Placement is based on course schedule and GW student availability.
- Participation in regular training sessions is mandatory. Tutors must attend the training each Wednesday from 9:35-10:50am or arrange an approved make-up training time with the Program Manager.
- Participation in one Saturday a month training is mandatory.
- Tutor tasks include: participating in training sessions provided by the Nashman Center, tutoring for at least 90-minutes each week, and preparing tutoring lessons and activities.
Standard Position Description
The student will provide tutoring services for middle school math students. Tasks may include: build literacy and math skills with early childhood in small groups or one-on-one, or virtually. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications
This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided (Students working in an instructional capacity should be very familiar with the subject area in which they are working).
