Job description

Job Description:

Overview:

We don't simply hire employees. We invest in them. When you work at Chatham, we empower you - offering professional development opportunities to help you grow in your career, no matter if you've been here for five months or 15 years. Chatham has worked hard to create a distinct work environment that values people, teamwork, integrity, and client service. You will have immediate opportunities to partner with talented subject matter experts, work on complex projects, and contribute to the value Chatham delivers every day.

Job Summary

Institutional real estate investors manage increasingly complex debt portfolios across hundreds of loans, lenders, and investment vehicles. As a Loan Asset Management Analyst on Chatham's Investment Management team, you'll help bring structure and clarity to that complexity.

Working alongside experienced advisors, you'll analyze commercial real estate loan agreements, organize critical financing information, and transform complex loan terms into structured data within Chatham's proprietary technology platform. Your work helps some of the world's largest institutional investors better understand their portfolios, monitor financing obligations, and make more informed investment decisions.

This role is designed for someone starting out in their career who enjoys learning quickly and working with both financial data and legal documentation. You'll receive hands-on training while gaining exposure to sophisticated commercial real estate financing structures that few entry-level roles provide. Over time, you'll become a trusted partner in helping clients proactively manage their loan portfolios and make more confident, informed decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Review commercial real estate loan agreements and other financing documents to identify key loan terms and obligations.
  • Build and maintain loan models within Chatham's proprietary technology platform.
  • Monitor portfolio activity, including loan draws, repayments, refinancings, amendments, and covenant updates.
  • Assist in preparing client reports, dashboards, and portfolio analytics that highlight key financing metrics and upcoming events.
  • Perform quality control reviews to ensure loan information remains accurate and complete.
  • Participate in client meetings alongside senior team members while developing your understanding of client objectives.
  • Collaborate with teammates across advisory, valuation, and technology to continually improve client solutions and internal processes.

What Success Looks Like in the First Year

Month 3

You've developed a strong understanding of commercial real estate loan structures, can independently model straightforward loans, and consistently produce accurate, high-quality work.

Month 6

You're contributing meaningfully to client deliverables, identifying inconsistencies in loan documentation, asking thoughtful questions, and beginning to participate in client discussions.

Month 12

You're independently supporting portions of client portfolios, recognized as a dependable team member, and developing the judgment needed to progress toward an Associate role.

This Role is Ideal for Someone Who

  • Thinks like a detective - you enjoy digging into documents, spotting inconsistencies, and solving puzzles others might miss.
  • Has a sharp eye for detail and takes pride in getting things right the first time - you know that small oversights can have big consequences.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, especially when translating technical details into client-friendly language.
  • Stays calm in ambiguity and adapts quickly to changing client needs.
  • Takes ownership of your work and consistently delivers high-quality, reliable results.
  • Is energized by collaboration and eager to learn from others.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Real Estate, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred

  • Internship or coursework related to finance, commercial real estate, accounting, banking, or investments.
  • Exposure to financial modeling or data analysis.
  • Interest in commercial real estate debt, capital markets, or institutional investing.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative team that is invested in your professional growth.
  • Direct access to experienced advisors and industry experts.
  • Meaningful work supporting sophisticated institutional real estate investors from your first day.
  • Ongoing technical and professional development opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits including healthcare, retirement matching, generous PTO, professional development budgets and more.

Sound like a fit, but not sure you meet every bullet? Apply anyway, we value potential and passion as much as pedigree. We're building a team of people who love helping others succeed and who are energized by solving complex financial puzzles with real-world impact.

For Colorado based candidates, the compensation range for the position is expected to be between $82,000 and $95,000 annually. Total compensation, including base pay, discretionary individual bonus and company bonus, may be higher than range listed, depending on applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401k, EAP, paid holidays and paid time off.
