Job description

Job Overview
APTIM is seeking an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to support aboveground storage tank (AST) API 650/653 inspections, pipeline API 570 inspections, and integrity assessment for government clients throughout the United States. This position performs NDT in the field as required by API 650/653 and API 570 inspections.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable on various NDT methods, has experience performing NDT in the field, and the ability to work safely in industrial environments while delivering high-quality inspection documentation.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Perform ultrasonic thickness (UT) measurements on shell courses, roofs, bottoms, nozzles, and associated piping.
  • Perform Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) testing on tank bottoms.
  • Execute NDT examinations using methods such as:
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
    • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
    • Vacuum Box Testing
  • Coordinate with API 650/653 & API 570 inspectors in the field.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations and APTIM safety policies.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the United States as required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NDT certifications in one or more of the following:
    • Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL)
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
    • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
    • Vacuum Box Testing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing NDT that supports API 653 tank inspections or API 570 piping inspections.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital inspection reporting software.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay rate for this position is $35.00 Per Hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
