Job description

Job Title: Compressor Blade Technician Location: Orlando, FL Type: Contract Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform compressor blade blending, dimensional verification, and nondestructive testing inspections in accordance with engineering specifications, company quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and advanced inspection equipment to ensure structural integrity, dimensional compliance, and surface finish requirements of compressor blades and related components.
  • Read, interpret, and execute operations per engineering drawings, repair manuals, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform compressor blade blending, polishing, and surface restoration while maintaining dimensional and structural requirements.
  • Measure tip height and other critical dimensions using precision measuring tools and gauges.
  • Set up and operate nondestructive testing equipment and perform inspections.
  • Conduct moment weight checks and dot peening operations.
  • Evaluate inspection findings, determine acceptability, and accurately document results.
  • Identify nonconforming conditions and support engineering evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with internal, regulatory, and customer quality requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of shop processes and collaborate across functions.
  • Comply with safety policies, environmental requirements, and reporting procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or minimum one year of related compressor blade repair, blending, inspection, or NDT experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of compressor blade blending and surface restoration techniques.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Working knowledge of magnetic particle, ultrasonic, eddy current, and visual inspection methods.
  • Understanding of aerospace or industrial component inspection standards and documentation requirements.
  • Basic computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and reporting systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, specifications, and inspection criteria.
  • Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds as required in a manufacturing environment.
