Job description

General Position Summary:

This position is a part of the Shipping/Receiving Warehouse Team and will perform all related tasks in the warehouse. This position is moderately complex, although it is an entry level position. The exchange of information from area to area is vital to the success of internal customers, as well as external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for handling, receiving, packaging, storing and shipping of quality graphite products to our customers. Maintain the high level of quality standards set by Toyo Tanso USA, Inc.
  • Handle graphite products in accordance with the approved standard operating procedures.
  • Visually inspect all graphite to ensure the highest quality.
  • Package products according to standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
  • Fill out all labels, shipping documents and records accurately.
  • Properly stock and prepare for shipment, packaged product in accordance with the SOP’s and customer specifications.
  • Inspect, verify and receive incoming products in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Follow all safety guidelines established by the company.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience in shipping/receiving.
  • Must be able to understand and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic mathematics skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
  • The ability to learn and use a computer system is required.
  • Experience operating a forklift preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs unassisted.

Working Conditions:

Working with raw graphite as well as finished graphite parts. Graphite dust is classified as a nuisance dust. Respirator or facial masks available upon request. Receiving of some products is hazardous in nature. These items are properly marked for care and handling.

Interpersonal Contacts:

This position will interact other departments within the company such as Bagging, Purification, SIC, Quality, and the Machine Shop. These contacts are critical to succeed in the completion of daily tasks. Contacts are made with subordinates, other supervisors, upper management and on occasion, customers during audits and visits. Discretion is required.

Work Environment:

Employee works both indoors and out of doors. Inside warehouse can be noisy and dusty. Temperature fluctuates with the weather. When working outdoors can be hot or cold, wet or dry, and noisy. Environmentally stable. Working with finished and unfinished Graphite parts. Graphite dust is non-hazardous inert and classified as a nuisance. Receiving of some products are hazardous, these are marked for care and handling.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds several time throughout the day. It also requires the employee to stand and walk continuously throughout the day. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders.
