GENERAL LABOR/MACHINE OPERATOR

Wire and Cable Spooling Machine Operator

Location: Northbrook, IL

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am –5:00 pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join their production team. This individual

will be responsible for operating and monitoring machinery used in the cutting, coiling, measuring, and

packaging of wire and cable products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in a fast-

paced, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor machines that cut, measure, spool, or coil wire and cable to specification
  • Load raw material (wire/cable) onto machines and thread through rollers or guides
  • Read work orders and use measuring tools to ensure product meets required lengths and specifications
  • Inspect finished products for defects, proper labeling, and quality standards
  • Package finished spools or coils for shipment and label correctly
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • Report mechanical or quality issues to supervisor or maintenance team

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation preferred
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and measuring instruments (tape measure, calipers)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions and work orders
  • Willingness to learn and operate multiple machines as needed
  • Dependable with a good attendance record
