Trio Electric is one of the leading electrical design, construction, and service firms in Texas. We are a full-service electrical contractor focusing on commercial and light industrial projects. In house, we boast both a professional engineering team and a 24/7 emergency service team. We are a member of the National Independent Electrical Contractor's Association (IEC).
At TRIO Electric, you'll work on some of the largest commercial construction projects in Houston while being supported by industry-leading planning, BIM coordination, prefab operations, and experienced field leadership.
The Project Safety Representative assists the Project Foreman in the maintaining safe and healthy working conditions on assigned jobsite. This is an entry level position into safety.
What You'll Do
  1. Health and Safety Plans
  • Zero lost time accidents or recordables
  • Assist the Project Foreman in maintaining an industry leading safety program on assigned jobsite.
  • Work on the assigned project in the process of developing, maintaining, and implementing processes and procedures that will help make Trio's human capital the best in-class via safety education and training
  1. Training
  • Assist the Jobsite Foreman with communicating safety incidents, training classes, meetings, and other safety related information to all employees on assigned jobsite.
  1. Accident Investigation
  • Respond to safety incidents maintaining the utmost in case management by avoiding lost time & recordable to the maximum extent possible while re-adjusting employees' job assignments when necessary
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations and communicate summary details to Safety Manager
  1. Inspections
  • Eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations which may lead to human injury and/or property damage
  • Respond to urgent safety issues reported on safety inspections weekly and assist in the identification of trends that are communicated and respond accordingly
  • Prepare for and administer random drug screens
  • Ensure our work is being done in a neat, workmanlike and safe manner that meets all OSHA and jobsite specific codes by visiting jobsites and meeting with project team leaders
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the jobsites and submitting results to Safety Manager
  • Maintain a job log of specific sites visited and inspected and submit to the Safety and HR Manager
  • Ensure each foreman has his/her project MSDS binders and First Aid Kits at all times
  1. Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety reporting requirements throughout the jobsite including; Toolbox Talks, Safety Inspections, and Vehicle Inspections
  • Maintain and input training qualifications of field and office employees
  1. Other
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
  • Electrical construction knowledge
  • Knowledge of Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations, NAPA, ANSI with a working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Proficient in construction principles and techniques
  • Able to identify materials, equipment, and safety hazards of construction projects
  • Maintain strict confidentiality as it relates to the knowledge that this position will be responsible for
  • Electrical background
  • Must be able to communicate technical and procedural requirements
  • Ability to deal with regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractor personnel is also required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems related to safety compliance and regulations
  • Bilingual highly desired
Education & Experience
  • Apprentice Electrician
  • OSHA 30 Training Certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards
  • Proficiency in applying rules and regulations to construction projects
