Production General Help is an entry-level position in the production department of our bakeries. This role performs various essential duties and tasks including box construction, packing and quality control. This role is a great way to get introduced to manufacturing and begin a long-term rewarding career.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform box construction, packing, and quality control duties on the production line.
  • Communicate information with other employees on the same line/area.
  • Ensure the proper handling, stacking, and movement of ingredients and bakery products.
  • Completes required work including, but not limited to: Quality Check sheets, dough schedule recording, taking temperatures of product, housekeeping and working in a safe manner.
  • Communicates any issues to the proper Supervisor or Manager.
  • Operate and monitor and troubleshoot food machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Review the current production run and communicate any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards within the work area, following all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Adapt to frequent changes in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Work irregular or rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials and follow recycling procedures.

Requirements & Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools, or controls
  • Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors, and fumes.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position.
