Job description

Labor Finders is currently seeking reliable and safety-focused CDL Drivers to join our team. We are looking for motivated individuals who take pride in safe driving, excellent customer service, and maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. Whether you are an experienced driver or a motivated candidate looking to advance your CDL career, we encourage you to apply.

Position Summary

The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods while adhering to DOT, FMCSA, and company regulations. This role requires strong driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records and communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Operation & Safety

  • Operate CDL-class vehicles safely and professionally.
  • Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor on the road.

Cargo Handling

  • Load, organize, and secure cargo appropriately.
  • Ensure freight is protected from damage during transport.
  • Verify loads before departure and delivery.

Maintenance & Inspections

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including tires, lights, brakes, and fluid levels.
  • Conduct routine vehicle maintenance as required.
  • Report mechanical issues and safety concerns promptly.

Route Planning & Navigation

  • Utilize GPS and company-provided technology to plan efficient routes.
  • Schedule fuel stops and travel breaks appropriately.
  • Comply with DOT hours-of-service regulations.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and activities.
  • Complete delivery receipts, shipping paperwork, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Fuel & Resource Management

  • Monitor fuel levels and coordinate fueling needs.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly equipped for trips and deliveries.

Incident Reporting

  • Report accidents, delays, road hazards, and vehicle defects immediately.
  • Follow company procedures for incident documentation.

Client Communication

  • Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
  • Confirm delivery details and resolve customer concerns when necessary.

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid CDL (Class A, B, or C, depending on vehicle assignment).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Strong understanding of safe vehicle operation and cargo handling.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and transportation regulations.
