Job description

The Logistics Solutions Coordinator provides support for our order services and transportation logistics team. Analyzes, transportation and distribution networks and develops recommendations for reducing freight costs, creating material efficiencies, and improving on-time delivery. Establishes, maintains, and communicates statistical data on the tracking of product shipments, returns, and inventory. Ensures woks aligns with the business unit’s established processes, policies and goals. This role is ideal role for co-op / intern position. This is currently a temporary position with potential to transition to full-time direct.  

Position Responsibilities may include; 

  • Provide support for the logistics solutions team by assisting them in daily activities. 
  • Extract and analyze data and maintain and generate reports that assist in performance tracking and decision-making. 
  • Analyze logistics operations and build decision support systems. 
  • Conduct research as needed to respond to customer requests. 
  • Collaborate with leadership, internal and cross functional teams to provide solutions and implement plans to improve business processes. 
  • Identify value-creation opportunities for the company 
  • Develop and implement solutions (both simple solutions using existing technology and infrastructure as well as complex solutions using the latest technologies such as RFID, self-configuring wireless meshes, sophisticated optimization algorithms, etc. 
  • Comply with the Company and business unit’s policies, procedures including safety protocols and maintain a clean organized work station. 
  • Perform additional duties / projects as assigned.

  • Works within well-defined work instructions 
  • As an entry level role, further develops knowledge and skills as a logistics solutions specialist  

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of supply chain / operations research preferred but not necessary  
  • Ability to expand knowledge of the logistics order services processes and best practices 
  • Strong knowledge with MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database applications 
  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative and creative problem solving skills 
  • Attention to detail and compliance oriented 
  • Effective organizational and time management skills 
  • Solid collaboration abilities; professional and diplomatic team builder 
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, with various teams including engineers and supply chain personnel 
  • Ability to apply good judgment & decision-making skills and strong work ethics and integrity on the job 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Results orientated, dedication to excellence and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives 

Experience:

  • 1 to 4 years educational/practical training experience 

Education:

  • Actively enrolled in college pursuing a Bachelor’s degree within related field
