Job description

We are looking for a VFX Technical PA to join our team in Vancouver on-site! Entry-level position.

We seek an energetic and detail-oriented VFX Technical PA to join our Vancouver studio. This role supports both production and artists, moving between teams to help keep work flowing smoothly across the pipeline. Our company is a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, with projects ranging from feature films to television. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing studio and work alongside experienced artists and production staff.

The VFX Technical PA is an entry-level position with a strong focus on coordination, communication, and hands-on support. You will assist production with scheduling, tracking, and optimizing workflows, while also supporting artists with day-to-day needs such as troubleshooting simple issues, helping with file organization, and ensuring tasks are moving efficiently through the pipeline. This role offers exposure to both the creative and logistical sides of VFX.

We are looking for someone proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn. The ideal candidate is comfortable switching contexts, enjoys helping others, and has a strong sense of ownership over their work. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain the studio environment by stocking supplies, keeping shared spaces organized, and handling general office upkeep and errands
  • Support both artists and production teams with day-to-day needs to help keep work moving efficiently
  • Assist Supervisors, Producers, Coordinators, and Leads with ongoing tasks, follow-ups, and general production support
  • Handle asset intake and ingestion, ensuring files are properly received, organized, and tracked within the pipeline
  • Manage and assist with IO operations, including preparing, packaging, and transferring files to clients and vendors
  • Help artists with basic troubleshooting, file organization, and pipeline-related support where needed
  • Organize files, update internal trackers and databases, and maintain accurate project data
  • Take clear and concise notes during meetings and help track action items
  • Assist Producers with administrative tasks such as compiling data, preparing documents, and general coordination
  • Support Production Coordinators with scheduling, review session prep, and task tracking
  • Assist with outgoing deliveries, including preparing renders, QCing packages, and ensuring all documentation is complete
  • Help ensure consistency and organization across projects by maintaining clean workflows and file structures
 
Education and Experience
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Proficient with computers and common software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency, problem-solving, and day-to-day workflows
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to stay calm and focused under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when production requires
  • Previous experience in an administrative, assistant, or customer service role is an asset
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and go beyond assigned tasks
