Job description

We are seeking a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist, sometimes referred to as a Limited X-Ray Technologist, Limited Radiology Technologist, Limited Medical X-Ray Technologist (LMXT).  The Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) is a healthcare professional who is trained and licensed to perform basic or limited-scope X-rays—meaning they can take radiographic images, but only in specific body areas and under defined restrictions.

Shift Available: Days

Employment Type: Full-Time

Hours: 8-hour shifts

Location: Family Wellness Clinic at SPI - South Padre Island, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Perform limited-scope X-rays, such as imaging of extremities, the chest, spine, or other areas allowed by state licensure
  • Operate under the guidance and supervision of a physician or a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R))
  • Prepare and position patients to obtain high-quality, accurate diagnostic images
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to ensure safety for both patients and staff
  • Assist with radiology equipment upkeep, complete patient documentation, and process images as needed
  • Responsible for performing quality control on the X-ray equipment and managing the operation and basic maintenance of the EKG unit, assisting with phlebotomy, and completing additional duties assigned

Education and Work Experience

  1. High School graduate or the equivalent.
  2. Graduate from an accredited limited medical radiological technology education program.
  3. Current state certification with limited certificate issued in the following categories: Skull, extremity, chest, and spine.
  4. BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire.
  5. Must be able to interact and communicate in English, both orally and written, with all levels of staff, Physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner; exhibiting tact, enthusiasm, and patience.
  6. Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues. ? Minimum of 1-year experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.? Able to demonstrate competent levels of radiological procedures in a clinic setting.
