This is a full-time, in-office position.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is an entry level technical position involving very little independent judgment in the preparation of laboratory samples for testing that is performed by others.  This position is assigned to the Serology and Immunology section of a public health laboratory.

Receives, sorts, numbers, and provides pre-analytical preparation of laboratory samples as required.

Contact specimen provider clinics when there is a problem with a clinical specimen, manifest, and to request additional patient or specimen information.

Assists in other non-technical duties, including, but not limited to equipment maintenance, unpacking and storing laboratory supplies, and general housekeeping in the laboratory areas.

Pack and ship clinical samples to Jacksonville lab.

Performs related work as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the basic concepts and principles of the sciences. 

Knowledge of the procedures, equipment and materials used in laboratory testing and analysis.

Knowledge of basic math. 

Skill in the use of laboratory equipment and materials. 

Ability to understand and follow technical instructions.
